Nook Farm is situated near Rosthwaite in the Borrowdale Valley. Rosthwaite lies just to the south of the small town of Keswick and the very picturesque Derwent Water.

The Borrowdale Valley is a very popular destination for tourists and is completely situated within the Lake District National Park with plenty of hotels, guest houses and holiday cottages catering for the lowland visitor as well as the hill walker. The hill walker can choose from a number of mountains to master including England's highest peak, Scafell Pike. Walking along a river bank of one of the many rivers that flow through the valley is one of the most popular activities with lowland visitors.

There is plenty to do for all the family around the area including sailing, wind surfing, canoeing, ghyl scrambling and climbing. For the less energetic there are plenty of other activities in the nearby town of Keswick including museums, coffee shops and retail outlets.

A regular launch service runs on the lake as well as the local bus service that take passengers throughout the year from Keswick across the Borrowdale Valley.
